Kai was born and raised in Ponoka, Alberta. He received his Bachelor of Arts with Distinction in Political Science from the University of Lethbridge and his Law degree from the University of Alberta.
Prior to completing his undergraduate studies, Kai completed two French bilingual programs at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières and the Faculty of Continuing Education at McGill University. He has also worked as a legal researcher for the Federal Government in the Litigation Resolution Branch for the Department of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada. While in law school, Kai volunteered with Student Legal Services in the Civil Law Project, and was a student member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators.
In his spare time, Kai enjoys playing rounds of golf, live entertainment, spending time with family and friends and new culinary experiences.
