Matthew was born in Sarnia, Ontario and moved to Alberta in 1981. He studied psychology at the University of Calgary and obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree (with Distinction) in 2001. He obtained his Law Degree from the University of Alberta in 2005.
Matthew articled with Warren Sinclair LLP following completion of law school and was admitted to the Law Society of Alberta in 2006. He became a partner in 2010.
Matthew focuses his practice in residential real estate and general commercial litigation, with a concentration on collections and security enforcement, including foreclosures, secured and unsecured debt collection, builder’s liens and landlord-tenant matters.
Matthew is a Director of the Central Alberta Legal Clinic Foundation and a charter member of the Waskasoo Optimist Club. He has served as Secretary of the Central Alberta Bar Association and as Treasurer of the Red Deer Downtown Business Association. Matthew has also served as a volunteer lawyer for the Central Alberta Community Legal Clinic and the Canadian Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Program.
